done and done

The list goes on! I am still trying to tackle my "Before I'm 21" list, but have realized (through my friends) that I have already accomplished some of them!

11. Sing karaoke in public.
-I did this one with my cousin's cousin, Shane Johnston. It was like 5 years ago, and we all went to some pizza place in Provo that had pizza and karaoke (because naturally, pizza and karaoke go together). We sang "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice and we were dang good.

15. Read the Book of Mormon.
-I am half and half on this one. When the prophet came out with the challenge to read the whole Book of Mormon a few years ago, I did it with my family. However, I haven't done it by myself, so I'm not sure if I should count it or not. I haven't decided yet. I think I'm going to count it because I did read it!

16. Kiss a stranger.

17. Make a scrapbook.
-My friend Hannah reminded me of my fahsion binder! It's something I am actually really proud of. I have been working on it since I was 15, and I get teased for it a lot, but I think it is really cool. I like to buy magazines to get clothing ideas. It helps me figure out new ways to wear my clothes, or what will be stylish in the upcoming season. I love to cut out anything that looks chic. And it has become quite a big binder, so yeah, I'd consider it a scrapbook!

19. Ride on a motorcycle.
-Not only did I ride a motorcycle my freshman year of college, but I learned how to drive one! My friend Andrew had a motorcycle and he let me ride it! It was terrifying, but so fun.

So I'm not as far away from finishing as I thought I was, although I still have a ton of stuff to do.

not all of my lists are stupid...

At the beginning of the summer, I had to move into a new apartment in my complex because my managers said they were going to turn my apartment into a boys apartment (which, for the record, they let girls live there. So I moved out for no reason. Don't even get me started on them.) So while I was packing up my old bedroom, I went through a lot of my stuff, trying to decide what I coud throw away. I found a ton of papers everywhere, and one of the papers I came across was a list I made when I was about 15 or so of 21 things I wanted to do before I turned 21. (Now, I know most everyone in my family that reads this will make fun of that last sentence because I am a cumpolsive list maker, but this is actually a good one!) And since I will be 21 in September, I decided it would be fun to go through the list and see how much I had accomplished. And I was so sad to see how little I had accomplished! Here is the list of things I thought would be important/fun to do before I turned 21:

1. Take a road trip with friends.
2. Learn a song on the guitar.
3. Save $1000.
4. Say "I love you".
*5. Learn to drive stick shift.
6. Milk a cow.
*7. Truly forgive someone.
8. Go to a drive-in movie.
*9. Do my own laundry.
*10. Ride a horse.
11. Sing karaoke in public.
*12. Leave the country.
*13. Eat sushi.
*14. Learn a song in another language.
15. Read the Book of Mormon.
16. Kiss a stranger.
17. Make a scrapbook.
18. Go to a concert.
19. Ride on a motorcycle.
20. Learn how to make bread.
*21. Own a piece of designer clothing.

*-finished!

So as you can see, I have quite a bit to do and not much time to do it. But I think it would be really fun to try and do everything on this list! So, here goes....hopefully I can do it all! I will update on everything and try to take pictures of them all!

something blue

I got the best surprise/news today! One of my best friends KaDee Hoffer and her husband Nate are living in Idaho this summer while Nate has an internship in Idaho Falls and I have missed them so much. And while I was at work, I looked over and there was KaDee, smiling this big smile and waving like a little dork and I almost started crying! I didn't know they were coming to Logan today!

KaDee is pregnant-she is due in November-and her doctor is here in town so she will come back at least once a month for a checkup. And today they found out the sex of the baby-it's a boy!! They were hoping for a boy, and I am so excited! Nate wants to name him Ryker, and I think KaDee has started to like the name, so that may be his name. But it was the best thing I've heard all day. They are the cutest couple ever, and they will probably have beautiful babies with a head full of Nate's dark dark hair and KaDee's tough girl attitude..haha But, I seriously love them. I am going to spoil that kid rotten!

guitar boy

Ok so the creepiest creeper I have ever known has come back into my life yet again. I met him last summer when I started working at Aggie Ice Cream. In the summer, we get crazy busy at nights with all of the high school groups that come to the university for summer camps, like cheerleaders, football players, basketball players, EFY, youth conference groups, etc. It was early afternoon that day, and we weren't too terribly busy yet. But this guy wearing all black walks in with a guitar strapped to his back. He had long, black, greasy hair and crazy pale skin. He came up to the counter and I asked him if I could help him, which was a mistake because I immediately inhaled his sick b.o.-it was quite pungent. He talked in this sick raspy voice, very softly, and asked if we ever have live music playing in the store...while our radio was playing pretty loudly. I told him that I just started working there, but that I hadn't ever seen anyone come and play in the store. I mean, we're a pretty tiny store. There are only 3 tables inside and one long bar. So I asked my supervisor, Maren, if we ever did, and she said the same thing. She also told him there was no room inside to really set up amps or anything, but he said all he needed was his guitar. He said he didn't want to be paid or anything, he just wanted to "share his music with the world." I am not kidding. That is exactly what he said. Then he pulled out this big envelope and asked if he could leave his resume with us so I put it on my managers desk, and then Maren told him he could set up and play for a little bit and we would turn off the radio for him. Which was dumb, but whatever. So he pulls out a barstool and turns it so it faces the counter where we scoop. He starts singing and oh my gosh he was just awful. He stayed there from about 3 in the afternoon until we closed. As we were helping the last customers of the night, he comes up to the counter and asks me if he can get some ice cream. So while I'm scooping for him, he asks me if he can get my number and give me a call some time. All of my coworkers instantly turn and look at me, along with everyone else in the store. And all I could think to say was "I don't give my number out." And he got mad, grabbed his ice cream, and left. I ran and hid in the back and felt violated!
Anyways, he kept coming in and playing his guitar, and would look at me while he played-he looked at me like he had seen me naked or something, he freaked me out so bad. So then when we started hiring a few weeks later, he came in and freaking applied for a job, which was when I had to tell my boss that I would quit if he started working there. Apparently in his interview, he told her he is bipolar and engaged. She told me she wasn't going to hire him, and that was the last I saw of him for awhile. But then, I started running into him when I would go out to eat, or when I would go grocery shopping, or when I was walking on campus. I saw him all the dang time, and he would TALK to me. He would tell me how crazy it was that he was always running into me, and would ask me how I was doing, and he would just stare. I wouldn't talk to him, I just always got away as fast as I could.
Well, it's been a couple of months since I've seen him, and I had pretty much forgotten about him until Thursday. I've had a membership to a private gym for a year now-it's a small gym, all the equipment is in one room and you have to have a key to even open the door to the gym, so it's pretty private. I work out 5 or 6 times a week, so I see pretty much the same people when I go. But yesterday while I was sweating it out on the elliptical, sick guitar boy (which is the nickname my coworkers gave him) gets off the ab machine and starts walking towards me. I put my head down and just kept working out, hoping that he didn't see me. But I think he did because then he started using the machines that were around me. So I only stayed for 30 minutes and then I literally ran out of there. (And in case you were wondering, his workout clothes were all black, too. Gross.)
So now guitar boy goes to the same gym as me! Alyssa thinks he is stalking me...that freaks me out. What a creeper!

we got a first timer here..

So, if you're wondering why my blog is called Bring It Black, then you have clearly not spent much time with me. I am a straight up black gangster.
Just kidding, I'm not. I just wish I was.
Anyways, this is my first blog! I have been really bad about writing in my journal lately and my big sis Megan makes her blog look so cute, which made me want to start a blog, too. Maybe I will be good about this one! Maybe not......but I will try to be. :) Anyway....that's about it. I'll update when something exciting happens!
